God is always in charge.

ready to braid Chloe's hair

Trek is over, and we are healing from it. It went as
well as could be expected. Our itinerary just about
went out the window because we changed it so much. We
couldn't help it. God had his way with us and that
is what we wanted, but didn't expect.
We had youth falling out and wanting a ride the first day.
It became too easy for them. So, our Stake President
prayed in the field for guidance and then came into camp
and asked us (everyone) to kneel with him in prayer
and then he kind of changed the theme to "We can
do Hard Things" and it worked. We got into a
different camp the first night earlier than we wanted
so we had to walk further the next day which made us
get into camp 3 hours later the second day. Which made
our Square dance caller have to wait for us for about
an hour and we didn't have time to do the activities
planned that day. We rescheduled them the next day, but it
was so hot,and everyone was kind of comatose so, not very
many people ventured out of the shade to play them.
Some people couldn't dance because they were getting their
blisters tended to. About 90% of us had blisters.
Our youth were amazing though, they trudged on in the 95
degree weather with no shade, blisters and bloody noses
sometimes. They did amazingly well, and pushed through and
felt the spirit. If they let themselves. But the spirit was so strong
all three days.
