The Best Babysitter in the World!

About 5 years ago we met Nick,
The Best Babysitter in the World.

One night we were in a crunch.
We needed a babysitter, but the only person
who was available was Nick. My daughter Sara
was a little nervous to have a guy babysit, but
as the night wore on the admiration grew
for this young man.

He taught my children all about
Super Hero's. He lent them all the
X-men cartoon videos he's had since
he was a kid. He introduced them to a
Super Hero game called "Hero Clicks"
and bought them everything they would
need to play the game.
And he played with them for hours on end.
He even wrote a book series called the "Terrifics"
about each of my kids as Super Heros.

He took the kids Halloween shopping for costume
essentials.
(Nick and T dressed up like the X-men
Cyclops and Gambet.) Then he came with us
Trick or Treating.

He took the kids Christmas Shopping for my
husband and I. He gave D and Lils a
plastic light saber to hold up if they got lost.
Then our family and his family spent
Christmas Eve together so he
could give us our gifts with the kids. He was
just as excited as they were.

All this time he was preparing to serve a mission
and received his mission call. He served in
Indianapolis, Indiana and wrote to us every week.
Sometimes he wrote specific letters to each of my kids.
Even to E who was born after he left.

He comes home tomorrow and he called
my family tonight to ask if we could spend
the afternoon with him and his family.

He has been an example and an awesome
friend. He reminds me of the Prophet.

Pres. Monson has so many stories to tell
because he puts himself out there to experience
the best parts of life. Interacting and serving
people.

Nick is like that.

I want to be like that!

Thanks for your example Nick!
Oh , and ummm... can you babysit? :)
